Dr Appointment Update

Okay, so I went in for my weekly checkup.  I am 37 weeks and 3 days as of today by their calculation of due date.  Everything is going good and progressing nicely.  I have been have contractions on and off since early this morning.  Nothing too strong, but these are definitely contractions.  In the words of my Dr., IF I make it to next week, we will do a sonogram to see how big Landon's head is getting.  At 36.5 weeks his head and body were measuring at around 39 weeks.  So, the Dr. said we would do another sono to check the size of his head.  If it has gotten bigger, she is thinking we will probably need to induce so that I can avoid a C-Section.  For those of you who like to know the numbers, my measurements are:

80% effaced
2 cm dilated
and -2 station.

So, it could be anytime now :)

Maternity Pics

So, I just wanted to share our maternity pics that my AMAZING bestie from Highschool did for us back in October.

Choose "Kidd Bump: Maternity" and it should bring up the slideshow of all the pictures we took.  If you would like to look at them individually, then above the slideshow on the right there is a link to click called "order prints."  Username: kiddbump and Password: 2011.  I hope y'all enjoy looking at them!  And if you are ever in the market for a WONDERFUL photographer, you should give her a try!!!

It's beginning to look like a nursery!!

Well, only 9 weeks left on the countdown, if Landon's due date is correct (at our last sono he was measuring a week ahead of time). We have been so busy the past month that I haven't updated in a while.  Two baby showers down and one to go...everyone has been more than generous and God has truly blessed our family beyond our imagination!!  I am now doing dr appointments every 2 weeks, and I will find out my results from my glucose test tomorrow!  I am pretty sure I am in the clear since it took it two weeks ago, and no news is always good news, right?!?

We are heading up to Washington in a week and a half for Thanksgiving and baby shower number 3.  We are so excited to spend this time with family that we don't get to see as often as we would like!  I am a little nervous for the 4 hr flight that awaits me...dr says I have to stay well hydrated and up and moving every hour; so, we will see how that goes!

And...since we have finally gotten most of the goodies from the showers put away, I have pics of the nursery for everyone!!  It's still a work in progress, but we think it is coming along nicely.  Hope you enjoy them!

FINALLY...I have finished the lettering for his room.  This took me a while, but I think they turned out great!

Changing table area...this used to be a night stand!  Tanner built the railing on top and we added the baskets down below for more storage.  Now all we need is the changing pad :)

Tanner also made the three wooden hangers in the shape of different balls.  Painted them too!!

Looking in from the doorway.

Our little reading area :)  Wanted to build some book shelves for all the books we have, but haven't decided if this is the way the room will stay arranged.

Hope you enjoyed the little tour around Landon's room.  Can't wait until it is filled with his precious sounds!!

Update on Landon :o)

We went to the Dr. yesterday to have a sono and a follow up appointment.  Everything went really well, and Landon has finally moved up high enough that I will not be forced to have a c-section!!!  YAY!  They estimate him to be somewhere around 2lbs 3oz right now and he is in the 51 percentile for babies at his age.  So, we are still thinking around 7lbs at birth, which is a sigh of relief for me since we are planning for a natural (no drugs) childbirth.  Dr. says to expect long legs just like Tanner and me :o) The sonographer got a picture of him either laughing or smiling yesterday, which is just a great thing to see!  I am really ready for him to go ahead and turn already.  My ribs muscles are being stretched a little too much for my comfort, which is why I have been having pain on my right side and it is uncomfortable to be in any sitting position for too long.  So, come on Landon...turn baby, turn!!!

We are just so excited!  We can't wait to meet our little man; only 13.5 weeks to go!

Landon Is Becoming Quite the Mover :)

Since I haven't posted anything in a while, I thought I would share this little video clip of Landon kicking :o)  You will want to turn your volume down on your computer because the TV in the background is pretty loud.  Pay attention to the right side of my belly around the wrinkle in my shirt and you should be able to see him.  Hope you enjoy!!

And Baby K's name is.....

So, we finally have come up with our little boys name!!!  I was ready to pick one out as soon as we found out we were having a boy, but it was a little more work to get Tanner to settle on picking one out.  We went through the whole alphabet and narrowed it down to about 6 favorites.  So, without further torture....

His full name will be Landon James Kidd :o)  Only 18 more weeks until we get to meet our special new addition to our family!!!  We are so excited!

Welcome to our blog!!

Okay, I never thought I would be the type of person who would have a blog, BUT I have decided to give it a go with all the new changes coming to our household.  As everyone knows who will be reading this, we have a little one on the way, a BOY!!, and we are so excited!  We thought this would be a good way to keep everyone in the loop about the goings on with our expanding family.  This will be the place to Keep up with the Kidds :o)...I know I stole part of that title from a reality tv show, but hey it's all I could come up with!  I really hope you enjoy the blog and this place to keep up with everything going on.  I will try to post as often as I can.
