Landon's 1st Trip to Washington

The first weekend in October was spent in Washington.  We had such a wonderful time visiting with family and friends.  I think the best way to describe the trip is through our pictures.  Please enjoy!

First time to see goats.

Notice anything strange?!?...I think the hen thinks she's a cat ;)

Choo-choo (the cat) LOVED Landon...He would follow him around whenever we were outside.

I think Landon liked all the animals!

They make me smile :o)

9 Months....and 3 days

Alright, I know I am 3 days behind on this post, but wow this has been such a hectic week!  On Sunday our little man turned 9 months old!!!  He had his 9 month check-up on Monday afternoon and everything is going good.  He weighs 19.5 lbs and they measured him at 27 inches...but I think he is taller than that.  He is quite squirmy now; so, it's really hard to get an accurate reading.  As y'all have already seen, he is now crawling.  And he is also pulling up on EVERYTHING!!!  At this rate he will be walking in no time!  Tomorrow is his first flight up to Washington.  Hoping for a smooth flight and that he enjoys the 4 hrs on the plane.  We've got a busy week/weekend ahead of us, and I know it will be a great time with Tanner's family.  Here's a couple of pictures we've taken recently...please enjoy!

We have a crawler...take 2!

Okay, the last link apparently didn't work, but I managed to get the video uploaded correctly to Google+...so here's to hoping this actually works this time.

We have a crawler!!

Landon decided he was ready to crawl last night while he was playing instead of going to sleep like he is supposed to. We are so proud and excited for this huge accomplishment!! Here's a video I just took of him crawling. Hope you enjoy :)

PS. Thank you for your patience with me on this.  I am trying to get google+ on my phone so I directly upload videos to this blog.  It is supposedly in the process of uploading everything.  I will repost the actual video when it is available for me to do so.  For now the link to my google+ page will have to do :)

Color Me Rad

Not sure if you heard or not, but Tanner and I ran a 5k this past Saturday called the Color Me Rad.  We had such a great time!!  When I signed Tanner and I up for this, we were supposed to be running with a group of people.  So, I figured he would run the whole thing with the other guys and I would hang back with the girls and run/walk the 3.11 miles.  Well, we ended up being the only ones who actually showed up for the race.  And we had a BLAST running together!  I know it was at a slower pace that what Tanner can do, but I RAN THE WHOLE THING!!!!  Such a huge accomplishment because 1.  I'm not a Runner 2.  I HATE running unless it's for a sport that requires you to run short distances and 3. I just had a baby 8 months ago....oh and did I mention I am not a runner...HAHA.

Now we are planning on putting a team together for a 5k in November called Foam Fest.  It is a 5k mixed with foam and mud run (obstacle course).  And we have some couples from our Life Group that have agreed to run it with us!  It is true what they say...5k's can be addicting once you run one :0)

We found a guy that was standing up on the hill waiting for his wife to finish and asked
him to take a picture of us and send it to our cell phone.

We didn't have a watch to see how long it took us to run, but we are thinking at the most 30 minutes.
There were 6,500 people that ran the morning race we were in, and most of them walked.
They sold out the race and had to make an afternoon heat, which consisted of 1,500 people.
The color is non-toxic, it's food coloring and corn starch.
It was 70!!!! degrees when we ran, in September, in Texas - AWESOME day for running!
The "Color Bomb Squad" managed to color my body more than my plain white t'shirt.
Tanner is an AWESOME running partner :0)

Grandma came to visit

Okay, so I know I am a little behind on this post, but I thought I would still go ahead and share this GREAT picture we took while Debbie was down for a visit.  We had a wonderful time for the couple of days that she was here.  I know she always enjoys her Landon time!!  Her and Tanner got to spend the whole day with just them and Landon on the Friday that she was here, and it gave mommy a little break at work :o)  Then that night, Tanner and I had softball at 8:45, which is his bedtime; so, she offered to stay home and got a little more quality time with just her and Landon.  The rest of the weekend was wonderfully relaxing just spent enjoying our long weekend together!

We are super excited to be making the plane ride up to Washington in a couple of weeks for some more quality time with Tanner's whole family and maybe his 10 yr high school reunion (still up in the air if we will actually go).  So, if you are in Washington and reading this, we will be arriving in the afternoon on Thursday, October 4 and will be leaving around noon on Monday, October 8.  We hope to see all of you and are excited to show off our wonderful little man with you!

8 Months...and a couple days :)

Oh my...time just keeps speeding up!  I feel like I just posted his 7 month picture!  This picture was definitely much harder to get because he was trying to hang off the chair while I was taking the picture.  Now we have to resort to distracting him to keep him from moving too much :0)  He's not quite crawling yet, but he is definitely mobile and getting around quite well.  His first tooth has pushed through his gums on the bottom...can't see it just by looking, but it is definitely there.  He now says Dada too!  And he is such a ham...he loves to get a reaction from you, and when you laugh he keeps doing it.  Such a joy to be around, but is growing up so fast!!!

Here's a couple of pictures until next month!

7 months....and 1 week :)

Okay, so I am a little behind on this post.   Our lil' man is now 7 months and 1 week old!  Oh my where does the time go ?!?  Not a whole lot new to talk about in the last month.  He is still trying to crawl...almost there but can't quite get his arms to cooperate.  No teeth yet!!!  I am very surprised with all the gnawing and drooling that we don't have a single tooth yet, but maybe they will just all come in at once...Hey, a girl can dream right?  Haha.

He recently got to spend 3 days and 2 nights with Grams and Pappy because Mom and Dad took a birthday trip to Mexico :0)  It was a fun filled weekend, that we wished was a little longer!  But we definitely enjoyed feeling like young adults again...haha.

We got to Skype recently with Tanner's extended family while they were visiting Jim and Deb.  I think they all fell in love with Landon instantly...but who could blame them?  He is KIND OF Loveable ;)  And Deb will be down in a little under two weeks to come get her Landon fix, and then we will be headed up north for a long weekend in October.

Had some family pictures and Landon's 6 months pictures taken at the end of June, which you can find at www.rrhphoto.com.  Click on Close-Ups, Arp Family: Portraits.  If you would like to look at the pics individually, you can click on the upper right hand corner of the slide show.  Log in is "Arp" and password is "2012".  You can also order pics from this area as well.

That's all the updating I have for now.  Hope everyone has enjoyed their summer so far!!!  Here's a few pics to get you through the rest of the month :)

Happy 4th of July!!
